Three Happy New “You” Resolutions You Should Make and Keep

Here are three powerful plans for a splendiferous, loving new year and a happy new YOU.

Be nice and kind to yourself. My dying mother said, “Shelley, you’re very lucky if, at the end of your life, you can count the number of your friends on one hand.” 

I nodded then thought, “Yes! And one of those fingers needs to have your own name on it.” I’m often flabbergasted by the hurtful and thoughtless things some folks recite within the walls of their skull.

How can you feel great with an enemy, chanting negative mantras inside your head? 

Self-kindness means taking loving care of your body, taking loving care of your actions and taking loving care with your self-talk. The words you choose and use inside yourself make deep permanent and lasting impressions on how you look and feel. They hypnotize you and determine your mood, health, success and vitality. Your self-talk also evokes energy that impacts how others think and feel about you.

Tell your friends why you love them. Don’t you just adore a friend? Of course, you do. So, when was the last time you told them? As you proclaim your appreciation for who they are and what they do, you nourish and strengthen your bond. It takes just a moment to let them know the gifts they bring. Oh, and by the way, if they say something nice to you, say “thank you” rather than blow it off.

Ask “What’s next?” Words are hypnotic and create magic in your life, emotion and what you do or don’t do. Words convince you and others about any and everything. Ask yourself or your friend, “WHAT’S NEXT?” then watch with wonder as wonderful ideas and actions kick in. A curious outlook moves you forward to joy. So, just for the joy of it, ask yourself here and now “What’s next on my journey to happiness?” Go ahead do it… As you listen to your answer it becomes so… Great job!
